INT DOM OFFICE DAY  

Dom sits back in his chair 

 

CEDRIC  

Wait you followed a gang banger? 

 

DOM  

 And that is all you got out of that whole

 conversation?  

 

Dom turns to his desk and rummages through the mess that is the top

until he retrieves a newspaper. He hands it to Cedric.

  DOM(CONT) 

 Here.

 

Cedric takes the paper and reads the article. He lowers the paper and

looks at Dom.  

 CEDRIC 

Another drive by? What is the point? These kids

now-a- days are crazy. You forgot where we live,

this  happens everyday.

  

DOM  

I know that but, I am talking about the name Griffin 

Washington.

  

CEDRIC 

Who in the hell is Griffin Washington?

 

DOM 

A Basketball player. Some believe he is better then 

Deshawn Jackson. They were high school rivals.  

His freshman, sophomore, and junior year, he won the  

state championship. All three years, dude averaged 

twenty-two points and twelve assist a game. Even as

a Freshman.

CEDRIC 

So, what happened to him? What made him turn in to

a crazy gang banger? 

 

DOM  

No one knows. He dropped out his senior year. I think 

it was the pressure. Imagine winning the state  

championship three years in a row, and Deshawn

Jackson gets all the coverage. Deshawn got front page

of the newspaper and first round pick in the NBA

straight out of high school.

Cedric sets the paper back on Dom's desk

CEDRIC  

Don't you think you may be diving into this just a little

too much?

Cedric looks at his watch.

 

CEDRIC 

 Shit. I got to go. We'll catch up tonight for drinks?

Cedric stands up and walks out of the cubical

DOM  

 Sure, drinks where what time?

 

 Dom says to himself he turns and starts getting his desk organized
